Is there any way to protect against "Magic Lantern" which is the FBI's keystroke logger. According to the link you gave us above, "Magic Lantern reportedly can be installed remotely by taking advantage of operating system vulnerabilities without having agents physically break into an office."

Is there any way to know if our computer has Magic Lantern or any other keystroke logger installed?

I doubt you'll have to worry about Magic Lantern or even Carnivore.

Both applications are most definitely considered antique by now, and have been replaced by more powerful keylogging and spying programs, both commercial and free.

The question of whether they can be detected by any antivirus vendor can only be answered if they have been released into the wild, that is, they have been deployed and have been recognized.

In any case, I'll assure you that if Magic Lantern has been recognized, it will most certainly be detected by most, if not all, antivirus vendors; most other antivirus vendors, has made no pact to ignore Magic Lantern
